I was recently interviewed for the Shine Bright Like The Firmament podcast, which is hosted by Madeline Shepley and features Catholics in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). In this episode I spoke about the different legs of my journey: first, my time discerning whether to become a priest, second, my time in physics that culminated in my Ph.D., and third, my time so far in data science. I enjoyed being able to speak about both religious and professional aspects of my life, and reminiscing on parts of my journey that I seldom think about.

Topics we discuss include the example of my parents, minor seminary, seminary formation, the Legionaries of Christ, my lifelong interest in astronomy, reintegrating my faith into my life after discerning out, getting my PhD, eclipses, the three-body problem, outer Solar system space missions, my transition to industry, and ethical use of AI.
